Andrew Comes to Visit

First of all I have to say shame on Jon and I for buying a new camera and then never taking it anywhere! UGHHH!

Anyways; my long lost best friend from 1st grade, Andrew Elliott, came to visit Jon and I for the weekend. He's been wanting to come out for awhile to meet my amazing hubby and spur of the moment decided to come on down this past weekend. Friday night we picked him up at the airport and one of the first things he said was "wow this place smells; are you really telling me thats not fog out there." oh yes Andrew you are correct. That is the sight of the nations worst air looking right at you! yummy!! Saturday morning we went snowboarding up at Brighton with my dad. Surprisingly my knee really didn't hurt at all! It was just the burn in the muscles after the 7th run that made me stop. But the boys had a good time. Oh and can I say I love watching Jon snowboard. He's amazing how!! and super cute in his snow clothes =) Anyways; after snowboarding we hurried to Cafe Rio (Utah Classic) and then went to mine and Jon's soccer game. Yes a soccer game after snowboarding! Apparently my knee wasn't too worn out since I did score a goal =) Right after the game we met Jessica Ann and her hubby and adorable son, Tyson the Tank, at our house to go to the Jazz game. It was Tyson first basketball game and boy did he love it! He couldn't take his eyes off the court the whole time. After the game we went to Training Table (another utah classic)

Sunday we took a little stroll down Park City Main and had some yummy sushi. We enjoyed wondering in and out of the art galleries and laughing at the comparisons of art prices. Art that looked like a kindergarten kid drew, $5,999. Art that was a Picasso original. $3,000. We also found a furr shop that the cheapest furr coat they had was about $100,000! Really? People buy those???? However there was a furr joke strap for only $35! What a steal!

Monday we went to the Wing Coop where Jon and Andrew dared trying the "Number Eleven" sauce. (the hottest wings they have) and I like how the worker said it, "they smell like death." and they did. Poor boys..... lets just leave it at that. After they somewhat recovered we went bowling and saw our good friend Sean there! It was his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN! so needless to say he and his girlfriend joined in on our fun and came over to our house afterwards for some yummy ice cream! Oh yeah and I bowled a 130!! yey for me!!!

It was so much fun having Andrew for the weekend and we cannot wait to make a trip up to washington to visit him. We're seeing in our future an Alaska Cruise out of seattle and going a little vaca before hand.

Pappy

My sweet Pappy passed away Sunday night at the age of 94. What a holiday season my family has been through. Even though I am going to miss his sweet spirit and contagious smile I am so glad to have the gospel and know that I will see him again. I can't imagine the joy he's having being reunited with my Aunt Linda.

It's always nice to reflect on the memories you've had with a loved one. I am one of his youngest grandchildren so I do not have any memories of him running around and having alot of energy. I do remember though with the energy he'd save up to play the harmonica and sing songs to me. One of my favorite memories was playing toss with a balloon with him at my fathers birthday party. We were playing for almost an hour and I was getting warn out so I stopped playing and he turned to me and said "am I out of the game?" haha oh Pappy. He's just adorable.

Below is a news article the deseret news wrote about him along with his obituary.

My Aunt was as close to a second mom as it could get. I remember her always wanting to help buy me dresses for my homecoming dances because she didn't have a girl of her own to buy one for. My favorite memory of her was wedding dress shopping with her and my mom. It was a special experience and got spoiled by two moms at my wedding. She was always there when you needed to talk or to ask silly questions like "how in the world do I make brown sugar soft again." I had the unique opportunity to go with my mom and cousin Jessica on Friday afternoon to dress her in her temple clothes. It was a very special experience to be able to have that alone time with her and be able to place her in her resting clothes with all of the love we had. It was very hard yesterday at her funeral but it makes me so glad to know that this is not the end. We could all just imagine the reunion of her and my grandparents. We're pretty sure my grandpa said something like "what the heck are you doing here!" but then nothing but hugs. I did have a little laugh though when I was saying my last goodbyes and looked into her casket and saw that someone put a diet coke in there. My uncle Randy (her husband) said something that I will never forget...

"I have not lost her... I know right where she is"

They have feelings too

I know all I write about is my little puppy but lets face it he really is my little child. It's been so interesting really seeing the emotions he has. He has a best friend named Roxy who is another boxer that is actually going to move in with us next week. They looooove playing with eachother and cuddling and what not. I never really did know how much he liked her until last night. Shannon and Chris (Roxy's owners who are moving in downstairs) moved some of their stuff in last night and then left. When they left Milo kept searching and searching for Roxy but couldn't find her. Jon and I were watching TV and just heard him whining downstairs and could not figure out what was going on. We came downstairs to him laying next to Shannon and Chris's stuff whining. Apparently he could smell Roxy on the stuff and missed her. All night he sat there just crying. We tried everything to get him to come upstairs, pig ears, slurpee, but all he did was just sit there and cry. We finally got him in his kennel and I woke up at 5am to him whining again. I thought maybe he had to go to the bathroom but no as soon as I opened the kennel he ran down stairs and began to whine again.

After what happened last night there is no way you can say he doesn't have feelings. Hurry up and move in Roxy you're breaking his heart!!! =)
